A first-look picture of Anjelica Houston’s character in “John Wick: Chapter 3” has surfaced online. She will be playing a character known as The Director, who is a member of the High Table.

A picture posted on Empire Online shows John Wick (Keanu Reeves) meeting The Director. John will be on the run after killing a member of the High Table in the previous movie. There is a huge bounty on his head, which means assassins everywhere will try and kill him.

The first look picture of The Director shows her meeting with John. It remains to be seen if this is from a flashback sequence, or if John will manage to strike a deal to get rid of the bounty on his head.

Reeves shared some details about the film and Houston’s character in the new interview. The actor said that they are trying to show “different tribes” in the fictitious world of assassins. Some of these assassins are apparently “less nondescript.” Talking about The Director, Reeves said that Huston is playing a “Roma Ruska character.”

There is a past connection between John Wick and the Director. In a previous interview with Entertainment Weekly, The director of the film Chad Stahelski teased that Huston’s character was responsible for the upbringing and the protection of John. He also teased that the third installment will be a bit of an origin story.

With “John Wick: Chapter 3” exploring some major characters from the titular character’s past, there are bound to be some flash backs. The flash backs can explain what these past connections are, and they may further give an insight into the background of the character. The Director isn’t the only one from the assassin’s past who is being introduced in the film. Halle Berry’s character Sofia also has a past with John.

The plot of the film will begin in New York City, where John will be seen trying to escape out of the country while fighting off assassins. His journey will take him to the Middle East, where he will meet Sofia. Just how strong the past connection is, and how she can help John remains to be seen.

According to a report by Collider, it makes sense for Reeves’ character to seek people from his past to help him with the problems he is facing in “John Wick: Chapter 3.” The report also notes that the film will explore just how big this world of assassins really is.
