A journalist has written an open letter to royal author Tom Bower after the latter had made derogatory claims about Meghan Markle in an attempt to malign the image of the Duchess of Sussex.

Sam Kashner, who interviewed and wrote an article about Markle for the cover of a 2017 issue of Vanity Fair, hit back at Bower and asked him to let Meghan live her life in peace.

Bower claimed in his controversial book “Revenge: Meghan, Harry, and the War Between the Windsors” that Meghan loathed the article written by Kashner, especially the cover headline that read, “She’s just wild about Harry!" saying she wanted it to focus on her philanthropy than her romance with Prince Harry.

The royal author further claimed that Kashner felt “manipulated” and “played” by the Duchess during the interview, saying Meghan was “calculating how to take advantage of the cards played” the whole time.

In response to Bower, Kashner wrote in an open letter addressed to the author that contrary to his claims, he actually had high admiration and respect for Meghan. “I found Ms. Markle to be exceptionally warm and gracious and admired her intelligence and her remarkable courage, as I still do,” he wrote.

Kashner asked Bower to stop messing around with Markle and Prince Harry and just let them live peacefully. To emphasize his admiration for the Duchess of Sussex, he also congratulated Prince Harry for choosing her to be his wife.

“A belated congratulations to Prince Harry for taking such an extraordinary woman as his bride,” he wrote. “Theirs is clearly a love match, so maybe we should stop piling on her and let the couple live their life in peace.”

In a recent interview with Piers Morgan, however, Bower continued his attacks against the Duchess and called her a “scheming and clever woman” who got what she wanted by marrying Prince Harry.

“And by marrying Prince Harry, she did it. Here was a woman who was nothing… broken family, the whole thing, an unknown actress, all the rest of it, becomes a global star, which is what she wanted,” he said.
