Julia Fox has hit back at her bashers over a recent comment she made about children needing to work instead of play. In a TikTok video she uploaded Tuesday, Fox defended herself after drawing flak for urging parents to buy their children mini-mops and mini-brooms instead of toys.

In the video, Fox explained that what she meant to say was that parents should teach their children the basics, including cleaning. "Oh my god, you guys are really acting like I said that kids should be working. That's not what I said. I said that kids need to learn skills," she said.

"Listen, there's a reason why, in public schools specifically, they don't teach kids trades or any marketable skills like sewing, or building things or growing food, you know, like basic s**t. Because they want to keep people dumb so that they have to go pay for it," she added.

Fox went on to call the trolls "crazy," saying her recent comment was driven by her feminist approach in raising her 19-month-old son Valentino. The model revealed that parenting a boy has inspired her to take on a different route in rearing him.

"Because I have a son, specifically, I don't want him to expect that women are just going to clean up after him and do everything for him," she explained. "I saw that my whole life, even in my own family and that stops with me."

Earlier this week, Fox came under fire for allegedly promoting child labor. It started when the single mother of one advised parents on TikTok to save money for their children. "The idea of childhood was invented as a way to get parents to spend a lot of money on s**t t*at's not really teaching your kid anything," Fox said, adding that parents should buy their kids mini-mops and mini-brooms instead of toys.

The video spread like wildfire across TikTok, with users poking fun at her and calling her out for allegedly supporting child labor. Before she hit back at her critics in her recent video, she posted a series of photos of her son playing at the park on her Instagram stories.

"Now here's a cute pic of my son at the labor camp he works at," Fox captioned the pics.
