Actress Julianne Moore -- who seems to just get more beautiful with age -- turned 51 on Saturday.

Moore's acting career has been long and varied. She has starred in a range of movies, from romantic comedies such as Nine Months, Laws of Attraction, and Crazy, Stupid, Love to more dramatic films such as A Single Man and The Hours (for which she earned an Oscar nomination).

Moore has several projects coming up, including the HBO movie Game Change, in which she will play former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

Moore's list of accomplishments includes writing the children's book Freckleface Strawberry.

Moore, a redhead and freckleface herself, spoke about one of her major beauty rules in an interview with InStyle magazine: Stay out of the sun.

I always wear sunscreen, and I walk on the shady side of the street, she told the magazine. She also said her skin would be superdamaged otherwise and that she advises young people to do the same.

Here are photos of Moore throughout the years.
