Justice For Instagram Influencer Found Stabbed To Death In Suitcase, Arrest Made

An arrest has been made in relation to the fatal stabbing of Russian Instagram influencer Ekaterina Karaglanova. The news was announced in a statement released by the Russian Ministry of Interior (MVD) on Wednesday.

"As a result of operational search activities, the police officers at the Moscow Directorate of the MVD of Russia in Moscow established the location and arrested the suspect in the murder of a female social media personality in the apartment of a residential building on Pyryeva Street," Irina Volk, the official spokesperson for the MVD, said, according to CNN. "He has now been brought in for questioning."

According to Radar Online, Russian newspaper "Moskovsky Komsomolets" reported that Karaglanova was found on Friday inside a suitcase in her apartment with stab wounds to her neck after her parents, concerned from not hearing from her, gained access to her apartment.

The 24-year-old travel and fashion blogger boasts over 95K followers on Instagram and recently graduated medical school. Karaglanova was also the first runner up for Miss Moscow City pageant and was planning a trip to the Netherlands to celebrate her 25th birthday before her death.

Although the identity of the suspect has not yet been released, Variety stated that investigators cited jealousy from a former boyfriend as a potential motive.
