Kanye West feels that people look at him like Hitler and ranted at the Big Chill Festival on Saturday that he's being misunderstood and underappreciated.

"I walk through the hotel and I walk down the street, and people look at me like I'm (expletive) insane, like I'm Hitler," West said. "One day the light will shine through and one day people will understand everything I ever did."

The patrons booed the 34-year-old performer as a result of his comments, according to The Associated Press.

Kanye West is known for his huge ego, which bruises easily, defended the music video shot for his song Monster. The video features acts of cannibalism and girls hanging from their necks.

The video is banned because some women's group found it offensive.

West also started his set about 30-minutes late and apologized to patrons for being tardy adding that he needed his performance to be great.

But besides starting later than schedule, West told the crowd about past award shows drama and cancelled sponsorships.

In 2009, West crashed Taylor Swift's VMA acceptance speech to conduct one his many rants by grabbing the mic and protesting that Beyoncé "had one of the best videos of all time."

Despite all his rants last night, West closed the show with a tribute to dead singer Amy Winehouse who died last month.
