Sandi Toksvig was very upset about the Kate Middleton controversy involving her back in 2013.

The TV presenter has recently opened up about the incident that happened five years ago. At that time, Toksgiv was asked for a comment about the Duchess of Cambridge, and she said that Middleton was "very Jane Austen." However, many didn't take her words well.

"And that upset me hugely," Toksvig said (via Express). "Because I wasn’t trying to be unkind to her in any way."

Toksvig insisted that she didn't mean to offend the royal with her comments. In fact, she hoped she hadn't insulted Prince William's wife. "I hope she would never, ever think so," the TV host added.

In related news, Sarah Ferguson was also asked about her thoughts regarding Middleton after missing an invite to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's royal wedding in 2011. The Duchess of York admitted that she watched the event and was very careful when it comes to her advice for Middleton.

"What's interesting is that I would never presume to give Catherine advice because she's doing so well," Ferguson said. "She looks fabulous, she's beautiful and fabulous and they look so in love and it's a great story."

Ferguson also admitted that she saw herself in Middleton. In fact, Prince William and Middleton's big day triggered her to examine herself and her life when she was once part of the British royal family.

"I was that bride and at 25-years-old I went down the aisle of Westminster Abbey," Ferguson said. "It caused me to have great soul searching on regret, on all the things, you look at."

In related news, Camilla Parker Bowles reportedly wanted Prince William and Middleton to split. In fact, the duchess allegedly went on asking Prince Charles to advise his son to dump his girlfriend.

Prince William and Middleton split for a couple of months which Camilla thought was wise. It didn't take long for the ex-lovers to rekindle their romance.

According to Christopher Andersen, Camilla was just jealous of Middleton because the public loves her. However, several sources claim that the rift between the two duchesses is not true. In fact, they have a warm relationship since then.
