Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding had Sarah Ferguson reflecting on her own life choices.

The Duchess of York was not invited to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's royal wedding in 2011. However, Ferguson admitted that she watched it on television and could even relate to the bride.

"I was that bride and at 25-years-old I went down the aisle of Westminster Abbey," Ferguson told Elizabeth Saab on the US TV show "The Daily" (via Express). "It caused me to have great soul searching on regret, on all the things, you look at."

Ferguson and the royals' rift is apparent following her split from Prince Andrew. According to sources, members of the Firm were furious about the duchess' scandal.

"She was famously photographed with her financial advisor and she was wearing a bikini in some garden in the south of France and he appeared to be sucking her toes," royal biographer Penny Juror said in the documentary. "She was at Balmoral when those photographs came out. The family came down for breakfast and there was Fergie in this shocking scene and that was the end."

This is probably the reason why Ferguson was not invited to Prince William and Middleton's wedding. However, she was present at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's nuptials. According to an insider, the Duke of Sussex fought with the palace in order to be able to send an invitation to his aunt.

Ferguson has already moved on from the scandal and her relationship with the royals are slowly getting better. In fact, she remains a good friend to her ex-husband, Prince Andrew.

According to the mother-of-two, she was thankful for her daughters Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice, and Prince Andrew as they helped her see the light amid the controversies she faced at that time.

"Had I not had this great faith, and great heart, this great belief for life, and the passion for humour and joy and my great children and my ex-husband, I certainly wouldn't be here, there's no question about it," she said.

In related news, Prince Harry's ex Chelsy Davy also had her own realizations during Prince William and Middleton's big day. According to a source, Davy realized that she's not the one for the Duke of Sussex as they're from different worlds and thing might not work. In addition, she values her privacy.
