Kate Middleton has reportedly reached out to Meghan Markle after the latter gave her a controversial interview about her struggles as a royal. However, it seems that the Duchess of Cambridge has a vested interest in the efforts that she exerted towards her sister-in-law.

Tom Sykes, a journalist for Daily Beast, said that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge may be delighted with the fact that the attention of the press is no longer solely focused on them. Before Markle joined the royal family, Middleton was also constantly criticized for her every move.

“For Kate and William, the rise of Harry and Meghan had provided some interesting tensions. The focus of attention was taken completely off them—but having apparently campaigned for a lower profile for years, it turned out they didn’t much like being also-rans when it actually happened,” he said.

On the other hand, the royal couple must also be upset with how Prince Harry and Markle are constantly gaining more attention and coverage from the press even if they are mostly negative.

Sykes said that Prince William, in particular, found it hard to accept his new low profile. The dad of three was also reportedly upset over the diary clashes he and his wife had with Markle and Prince Harry. The royal couples eventually decided to go their separate ways.

And it has also become evident that every time something negative will be written about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge would do something good to capture the public’s attention.

For instance, Prince Harry and Markle were slammed for taking a private jet to Nice and Ibiza last summer. And just days later, Prince William and Middleton were photographed taking a commercial flight to the Scottish airport.

And when the Sussexes gave an interview to Tom Bradby, Prince William and Middleton said that they were concerned for the couple. The future Queen also showed the entire world how down-to-earth she is unlike Markle by shopping for her kids’ Halloween costumes at a local grocery store.
