British design house Catherine Walker & Co will be showcasing their collections on the streets of London. The label, which is a favorite of Kate Middleton and her late mom-in-law Princess Diana, in a series of pop-up catwalks will be presenting their latest collection outside their Chelsea showroom. Fans are in for a royal treat as this is the first time a designer label is doing a series of pop-up catwalks to coincide with the Chelsea Flower Show.

Catherine Walker & Co is one of Princess Kate’s favorite British designers. The Catherine Walker & Co design Studio is based in Bury Walk, a pretty Chelsea mews where seven large studios are run on Parisian lines with separate workrooms devoted to tailoring, dressmaking and with addition skilled craftsmen and women employed for embroidery. It was founded by Catherine Walker and her husband Said Cyrus in 1977. It is one of the leading British couture houses.

Said Cyrus, Creative Director of Catherine Walker & Co told People that they were hoping for a good weather when the models strut down the catwalk on high street. He added that he is prepared for every eventuality and they have a wet weather plan as well, in place. “The Catherine Walker & Co. SS16 collection is brimming with floral references – from appliqué and embroidery to exclusive printed fabrics,” said Cyrus.

The label is known for dressing Diana in the 1980’s. Nine models will take to the catwalk down the busy high street wearing exquisite evening dresses from the house’s Spring/Summer 2016 collection. These models will accessorize with elaborate and unique floral head pieces (made from real flowers) and theatrical make-up, all inspired by the English country garden.

This would take place across three locations on King’s road, which is also a favorite shopping destination for Kate and her younger sister Pippa Middleton. Cyrus told that the label will celebrate its 40th anniversary next year. He wanted to add some glamour and fun to the occasion, and he could not find a better occasion, and hence timed it with the Chelsea Flower Show.

The designer said it was an occasion that brought “this exclusive London community together.” The five day Chelsea Flower Show is currently on at the Royal Hospital in Chelsea till Saturday. It is one of the world’s most prestigious flower shows and hosted Queen Elizabeth II and Princes William and Harry as well as Kate Middleton, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew, his daughters Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice and Sophie, the Countess of Wessex at the exclusive preview Monday.
