Kate Middleton sits correctly compared to Meghan Markle.

On Wednesday, the Duchess of Cambridge and the "Suits" actress made their first official appearance together. They were seated next to each other and a royal etiquette expert analyzed and commented their manner of sitting.

Royal etiquette expert Grant Harrold noticed a big difference in the way Middleton and Markle sit, in particular, on how they arranged their legs. According to Prince Charles' former butler, Prince William's wife sits correctly compared to Prince Harry's fiancée.

"Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge is sitting in a correct and ladylike manner, which she would have been taught at an early age," Harrold told Daily Mail (via Express).

"This sitting posture is not only the correct and ladylike manner, but is also a practical way of protecting ones modesty when wearing a dress or skirt," the etiquette expert continued. "Ladies wouldn't normally cross their legs and certainly would not cross at the knees."

Markle was photographed crossing her legs. According to the former butler, crossing the legs is not considered good for the health of the ladies especially for pregnant women due to circulation.

Harrold also commented on Markle and Middleton's curtsy on Christmas Day. The two women bowed to Queen Elizabeth II, but according to him, one did it right while the other was wrong.

According to Harrold, Middleton did it "right." Meanwhile, he found Markle's curtsy bobbing too low. While the Duchess of Cambridge kept her back straight and slightly bent her knees, the "Horrible Bosses" dipped too low and bowed her head.

"What you should be doing, for a lady, is the right foot behind the left, and then it is a gentle bob," Harrold told "Good Morning Britain" hosts Kate Garraway and Charlotte Hawkins. "You keep the hands in because you're not a penguin."

In related news, although Markle and Middleton are often compared, the two ladies enjoy a good friendship. In fact, the "Remember Me" actress reportedly helps the Duchess with her difficult pregnancy.

According to an insider, since Markle and Middleton live near to each other at the palace, the former often visit the latter. Prince Harry's fiancée and Prince William's wife chat and share a cup of tea. Markle also shares the tips she reads about healthy eating.
