Kate Middleton looked stunning Friday as she braved the rain in London for the launch of her new project. However, some social media users couldn't help but be reminded of an iconic shot of Meghan Markle in the rain.

In photos shared by royal correspondent Omid Scobie on Twitter, the Duchess of Cambridge smiled while holding an umbrella as she arrived at the London School of Economics for the launch of The Royal Foundation Center for Early Childhood.

For the engagement, Middleton wore a pale blue, square-shoulder LK Bennet dress with puffy sleeves, InStyle reported. She paired the dress with nude-colored pointy-toe pumps, a gold bangle bracelet, layered dainty necklaces and a floral face mask.

Photos of the duchess garnered praise on social media, though some Twitter users compared them to the stunning picture of Markle and Prince Harry in the rain at the Endeavour Fund Awards in London last year.

"Look like replay of Meghan picture with the umbrella and the green dress," one commented, as another wrote, "Can never recreate the H&M photo. It's iconic, classy and timeless."

"Not to be funny but it feels like they want to recreate the famous picture with Meghan. Both beautiful pictures and woman. Don't get me wrong but it reminds me so much of that picture," another said.

"Copy Kkkate. Now she got her very own iconic umbrella-in-the-rain shot. Awww!" a fourth added.

Others poked fun at those claiming Middleton was trying to have her own "umbrella in the rain" moment, noting that shots like these were common.

"Really? what do you think most people use when it rains? cover their heads with newspapers or books or bags?" one Twitter user wrote, while another commented, "You talk as if she is the only person to walk in the rain with an umbrella.. omg! So petty!"

"Not being funny but it’s been tipping it down all day. One thing England’s weather is renowned for is raining so woman walking in the rain with an umbrella really isn’t that unusual here," a fourth user added.

Meanwhile, during her engagement, Middleton spoke about the importance of early childhood education during a roundtable discussion with leading academics and practitioners.

After the discussion, she met with several parents at Kensington Palace and had a conversation with them regarding the importance of supporting parents with young, developing children.
