Kim Kardashian said she is "holding on by a thread" as she protects her children from discovering their dad Kanye West's controversial behavior.

In a new interview, the "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" alum, 42, broke down in tears as she candidly spoke about her divorce from the "Donda" artist, who now goes by Ye, and her struggles co-parenting their four children: North, 9, Saint, 7, Chicago, 4, and Psalm, 3.

"I definitely protected him, and I still will in the eyes of my kids. For my kids. So, in my home, my kids don't know anything that goes on [in] the outside world," Kardashian said in an episode of the "Angie Martinez IRL" podcast posted Monday.

She admitted that she is "holding on by a thread" but that she will continue to shield her children from their father's controversial behavior, including the recent antisemitic remarks made by the rapper, "as long as I can."

Kardashian said their children "don't know anything" about West's controversies as she makes sure to protect what they are exposed to online and pretend like nothing is wrong — something she confessed is a full-time job.

"It is worth it because I think that, of course, I want to disassociate in specific thoughts and things being said because that is not me," the Hulu personality said. "But at the same time in my home I could be going through something, but if we are riding to school and they want to listen to their dad's music — no matter what we are going through — I have to have that smile on my face and blast his music and sing along with my kids. [I can] act like nothing is wrong and as soon as I drop them off, I can have a good cry."

Kardashian got emotional and burst into tears during the interview while discussing how her relationship with her late dad Robert Kardashian influenced her decision regarding her kids and West.

"I had the best dad. I don't want to get emotional, but it's just been a day for me. It is hard. Coparenting is really f—king hard," she explained. "I had the best dad and the best experiences, and that is all I want for my kids. As long as they can have that, that is what I want for them."

Kardashian added that as long as her children do not know about their dad's controversies, she will not bring them up as she believes that they are too young to deal with them.

"That is real, heavy, grownup s—t that they are not ready to deal with. When they are, we will have those conversations. One day my kids will thank me for not sitting here and bashing their dad. I could," the "Kardashians" star explained.

Kardashian's new interview came weeks after she and West reached a settlement in their divorce. The rapper will pay the reality star $200,000 per month in child support.

The former couple will also have joint custody of their kids, and neither will pay the other spousal support, according to the settlement. The two will equally split the expenses for the children's security and education.
