Kim Kardashian has sparked backlash on social media after posting a video appearing to show her pet dogs living in her garage.

The 42-year-old Skims founder recently shared a video on her and her daughter North's TikTok account of her two Pomeranians named Sushi and Sake, showing off their Christmas setup, which included a mini Christmas tree, stockings and their own "Elf on the Shelf."

But Kardashian came under fire when the video showed the pooches running around in the garage next to their large playpen, which had their food-and-water station and potty place inside.

Although the beauty mogul may have had good intentions when posting the video, it only sparked negative criticism from social media users, which worsened when Kardashian deleted the video later that day.

"This video was deleted from North's account. Is it because Kim Kardashian doesn't want people to think they keep their dogs in the garage? I wonder why they deleted it," TikTok user @needthedeets, who reposted the since-deleted video on the platform, wrote.

"No matter how many fancy outfits or toys you buy for them, what they need is to be part of your family [and] sleeping [on] a warm bed inside the house," one user commented on the video, which resurfaced on TikTok Thursday.

Another commented, "They have acres of land, but they keep dogs in their garage."

"I'm sorry but imagine having a 2,000-square-foot mansion, and [your] dog just gets the garage," a third user said.

"I'm not going to lie, I thought they got rid of [the dogs]," a fourth user commented.

However, some fans flocked to the comments section to defend the "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" alum. They suggested that the garage probably has a heater and that it was "safer" for the dogs to stay in the crate instead of running around Kardashian's massive mansion in Hidden Hills, California.

"Kim's garage is better than most homes! They have a damn tree," one user defended.

Another commented, "The garage is [probably] heated and they look clean and happy, it looks great to me. I'm sure it's not all the time [they're in the garage] either."

"The hills in [Los Angeles] have hella cayotes, at least they're safe inside," another user pointed out.

PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) also commented on the trending video, which has accumulated 1.8 million views as of writing.

"Knowing that Kim Kardashian is anti-fur and mostly vegan, we are hoping hard that she does not relegate her dogs to [live] in a garage," PETA senior vice president Lisa Lange told Page Six.

She continued, "What PETA does know is that dogs are highly social pack animals who need more than just soft beds and decorative stockings: They deserve to feel safe, loved, and to live inside the house as part of the family."

Kardashian and her representatives have yet to release an official statement on the incident.
