Lady Gaga proved that she truly lives for the applause after she performed an unforgettable act with “Trapped in the Closet” star R. Kelly for the American Music Awards on Sunday night. The duet certainly got everyone talking, with “President Kelly,” “Monica Lewinsky” and “JFK and Marilyn Monroe” being three of the top trending topics on the social media site in the country.

People couldn’t shy away from the fact that it seemed Gaga, who arrived to the awards show on a horse puppet, and R. Kelly were trying to re-create the Bill Clinton-Monica Lewinsky scandal. Some, on the other hand, saw similarities between the alleged relationship between assassinated president John F. Kennedy and iconic actress Marilyn Monroe.

Gaga was dressed up like Monroe for the couples “Do What U Want” performance. She answers a phone call from R. Kelly, and that’s when things heat up. The faux-oval office turns into a stage, which Gaga and her backup performers dance on. Gaga continued to undress herself and dance provocatively with each of her dancer’s before she ultimately lays her eyes on R. Kelly. In the end, the acting Commander-in-chief denied having any type of relations with Gaga and leaves her alone onstage to scream, “Do what you want with my body!”
