The Salvatore Boarding School for the Young and Gifted has closed its doors for winter break. The CW’s “Legacies” is officially on midseason hiatus, but it won’t be gone for long.

“Legacies” Season 1 returns Thursday, Jan. 24 at 9 p.m. EST. The episode will have to pick up on last week’s cliffhanger.

When Hope (Danielle Rose Russell) sent Landon (Aria Shahghasemi) away, she gave him an enchanted device that connects to a bracelet on her wrist. It gave her a way to know if he’s ever in trouble. At the end of the fall finale, Hope’s wrist lit up, indicating that Landon needs her help.

Landon isn’t the only one that needs to be found. The Necromancer used Cassie to get the knife, and the spirit of a Bennett witch magically transported it. The end of the episode showed someone in a control room watching footage of the knife fall into some black goo. Then, the mysterious figure picked up a photograph of Landon and his mother, labeled “Seylah & Landon.”

In addition, there is one problem located at school: M.G. (Quincy Fouse) might be a ripper. When Kaleb (Christopher De’Sean Lee) convinced him to feed on a human, M.G. wouldn’t let go of their victim after taking just a bit. He would’ve drained the human if Dorian (Demetrius Bridges) hadn’t sedated him.

In the midseason premiere, “Legacies” will show Hope going after Landon with Alaric (Matt Davis). The trailer even shows Hope holding a gun and threatening to shoot someone, an interesting move for a werewolf-witch-vampire hybrid. Watch the promo video below:

Don’t expect a rerun of “Legacies” to air. Instead “The 4th Annual Howie Mandel Stand-Up Extravaganza” will air on Thursday night.
