Fans are hyped at the possibility of "The Legend: Breath of the Wild 2" in this year's E3 following Nintendo's announcement Wednesday. But while Nintendo did not say anything about the game's release date, it seems that a new leak may have outed the release window of the much-awaited sequel.

The latest information about the release window of "The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of the Wild 2" came from industry insider serkantoto. On Twitter, the insider claimed that the much-awaited sequel might release sometime in 2022. This is interesting, considering Nintendo has not yet revealed anything about its plans for the said game.

Meanwhile, fans are hopeful the game might make an appearance at this year's E3 after Nintendo announced its E3 2021 Nintendo Direct schedule. According to the Japanese gaming giant, the event will be 40 minutes long and largely showcase titles releasing this year.

Moreover, the company revealed the showcase will be followed by approximately 3 hours of gameplay in NintendoTreehouse Live.

It is worth noting that Nintendo did not mention any games during its announcement of E3 2021 Nintendo Direct and Nintendo Treehouse Live. Despite this, fans are hyped and hopeful and as a result, both "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2" and "BOTW 2" are now trending on Twitter.

Nintendo teased the sequel at E3 2019 and since then has been silent about it. In February, Nintendo said that it will release more updates in the days nearing the end of this year. A few days ago, GamesBeat reporter Jeff Grubb speculated he is 51% sure that "Breath of the Wild 2" might release at this year's E3, or if not, in a Nintendo event after the all-digital games convention.

In the absence of an official confirmation, fans should temper their expectations about "The Legend of Zelda: Breath Of the Wild 2." The E3 2021 Nintendo Direct is scheduled for June 15, 12 p.m. ET.

"The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2" is currently in the works.
