Chinese company Lenovo is currently the top company when it comes to PC sales. However, the tension between US and China has already been affecting some products. Even so, Lenovo is to be doing well according to analysts.

Lenovo is leading the PC market when it comes to laptop and desktop sales, according to the International Data Corporation and Gartner (via TechRadar). While the Chinese company is doing well, Apple is also looking to rise to the upper spots too. Overall, almost all PC production companies have experienced a 4.7 percent year-on-year increase on their sales this 2019.

The increase of sales could be traced due to Intel’s steadier supply of processors this quarter which contributed to increased production of companies. PC suppliers were able to manufacture more units and clear more of their order backlog.

Moreover, the recent Huawei tech ban on the US has also spurred some companies to surplus their laptops and desktops in reaction to the event. The ban completely shut off Huawei from selling any more units to the US, which is a big region for tech sales.

Additionally, Microsoft is planning to end support to the Windows 7 by January 2020 which encourages many owners to buy a new unit to avoid any update issues. Nevertheless, all the trends are encouraging users to buy a new unit to keep their computers secure and convenient.

The IDC said that Lenovo currently has 25.1 percent of PC market’s share and has a growth of 18.2 percent. Meanwhile, Apple currently sits at fifth place at 6.3 percent of market share. While analysts have a data on Apple, their data is based on estimates as the Cupertino tech giant doesn’t reveal their Mac unit sales anymore.

If Lenovo keeps having the lead, it’s highly possible that the company will also enter the foldable smart device race soon through their profits. As seen in the company’s patents, Lenovo has the technology for their own iteration for the device.

As of now, the top players in the race, namely Samsung and Huawei, are taking their time on development to prevent the problems found on the Galaxy Fold from happening again.
