Miley Cyrus is passionate about the general welfare of her fellow Americans. So when the “Wrecking Ball” singer found out that the southeastern part of the United States was ravaged by a deadly storm, she was completely devastated.

On Monday, Cyrus took to Instagram to express her sympathy to the families affected by the natural disaster. Liam Hemsworth’s girlfriend shared an infographic showing an old woman scavenging for intact items from the wreckage of her house. In the caption, Cyrus admitted that it is always quite devastating to hear stories about families losing their homes due to nature’s workings. She noted that she’s sending her love to everyone affected by the tragedy.

The powerful storm reportedly sent torrential showers and high winds to the southeastern part of the country. Numerous mobile homes were demolished by the natural disaster, while airline and air travel have been suspended. At least 21 people were documented to have died due to the storm, as reported by Reuters.

Aside from Cyrus’ concern for the victims of the storm, she also took the time to call for equality at the Women’s March over the weekend. The Happy Hippie founder even posted pics and clips from the event on her Instagram account. In her posts, she emphasized her support for Planned Parenthood and the Women’s March.

During the parade, Cyrus stumbled upon “Scream Queens” actress Jamie Lee Curtis, and the former Disney Channel stars posed for a wacky photo. In the snap, Cyrus can be seen holding a placard that says Happy Hippie loves Planned Parenthood in emoji form, while Curtis grabs onto a sign that says “#What She Said.”

Cyrus also posted a clip of her speaking onstage in front of the huge crowd. “Happy Hippie and I, my foundation, we want action. We don’t want to talk about change, but we want to be the change that we want to see,” she says in the video. “We have to never stop believing. We have to never give up. We are living proof that we are stronger together.”

Cyrus and Curtis are among the many celebrities who joined the Women’s March over the weekend. Lea Michele, Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato and many others also attended the simultaneous processions all over the country to fight for women’s rights.
