Riverdale star Lili Reinhart tweeted out her scary experience at the airport after she hailed a cab through the Uber app. Taking to Twitter to share her ordeal, the 22-year-old advised warned people against putting politeness before their own safety.

Fox News said a nefarious imposter allegedly tried to lure Reihart into a waiting car.

“PSA: I was just ushered to a car by someone posing to be an airport cab/Uber driver. I got to his car and there were absolutely no signs that he was a professional service driver. So I did NOT get into the car,” the actress tweeted.

“Please pay attention and make smart decisions out there,” she added.

The Hustlers actress said one doesn’t have to be nice or worry about being rude in such situations. “Trust your gut. It could save you.”

Reinhart’s fans were thrilled that she was safe. Some thanked her for sharing the experience while an Uber driver, Jesse Lunsford, took the opportunity to remind people that they need to verify the drivers before getting into the vehicle. “Glad you are okay. I am an Uber driver, and I always verify my passenger’s name when I pick them up and give them my name to verify that I’m the driver they are waiting for,” he tweeted.

Uber from its official account replied to Reinhart’s tweet and expressed gratitude for the tips and reminder.

“Hey Lili, thanks for sharing this PSA. We agree and recommend these tips to help check your ride and ensure you get in the right car,” read the tweet.

In March, 21-year-old Samantha Josephson of Robbinsville, N.J., got into a car thinking it was the Uber ride she had booked. Surveillance footage showed her getting into a Chevy Impala.

Her body was found dumped in the woods with numerous wounds. The driver of the car, Nathaniel David Rowland, was arrested and charged in her death. Investigators said he had turned on the child locks in his back seats so Josephson could not escape.

This is not the first time that a celebrity has shared her experience about Uber. In 2015, Farrah Abraham claimed on a podcast episode that a Uber driver tried to assault her. She told US Weekly that it was a very scary experience and she was very upset.
