Lindsay Lohan
Lindsay Lohan is expected back in court again on Monday.

The year just passed certainly had its ups and (mostly) downs for Lindsay Lohan, but according to her legal team, 2013 will be a “lucky” year for the troubled actress.

In 2012, the now 26-year-old actress seemed to ignite hopes among her fans that the year would mark a big comeback for her. Lohan starred in the made-for-television Lifetime biopic “Liz & Dick,” her first starring role in years, to mostly tepid reviews, and wrapped filming on the upcoming Bret Easton Ellis thriller “The Canyons.”

But despite getting back to work, Lohan also experienced her share of legal battles in 2012 including: allegedly lying to police officers after being involved in a car crash in June; getting arrested after an alleged hit-and-run outside the Dream Hotel in NYC, which Lohan claimed she was framed for; getting into an altercation with her mother, Dina, at their Long Island home for which police officers were called in, and an arrest for reportedly punching out Tiffany Ava Mitchell in the face at the Chelsea nightclub Avenue on Nov. 29.

Lohan has repeatedly denied responsibility for almost all of her most recent incidents, variously attributing her legal woes to her fame, or people simply trying to exploit her for money and public attention, and her attorney, Mark Heller is apparently on board with that assessment.

After a court appearance in New York , where Lohan is currently battling assault allegations by Mitchell, Heller boasted about a fortune teller’s positive assessment of Lohan and told reporters that he believes all his client needs is “a bit of luck.”

“Ironically a psychic fortune teller has predicted that the year 2013 will be an extremely lucky year for Lindsay Lohan,” said Heller. “And with her spectacular talent and great looks I believe that all she really needs is a bit of luck.”

"A very credible witness has come forward,” Heller told the throngs of reporters and photographers. “We believe this case will not move forward and that Lindsay will be totally exonerated.”

Heller rejected Mitchell’s claim that she had been physically assaulted by the starlet, claiming that it was actually the other way around and that Mitchell had “accosted” Lohan.

“[Lindsay] just verbally requested that she be left alone,” he said.
