Lisa Marie Presley had one request for her memorial service before she passed away.

The late singer, who suffered cardiac arrest and died on Jan. 12 at the age of 54, wanted her funeral to be a celebration.

"The one thing she said was, 'Don't make it sad.' She wants it to be a celebration, and that's what it's gonna be," Elvis Presley Enterprises president Joel Weinshanker told Entertainment Tonight's Kevin Frazier before Lisa Marie's funeral Sunday.

He added, "It's about celebrating her life. This whole Graceland is about celebrating Elvis' life, and we're gonna do the same for Lisa."

Weinshanker revealed that the only child of Elvis Presley and Priscilla Presley initially had "many thoughts" about what her funeral should be like. She wanted to be buried at Graceland and next to her son Benjamin Keough, who died of suicide in July 2020. He was 27.

Lisa Marie's funeral took place exactly two weeks after she celebrated what would have been her late dad Elvis' 88th birthday. Fans gathered in front of the Memphis, Tennessee, mansion at the time, and Lisa Marie celebrated the occasion with them.

"She was happy. I was with her for several days at Graceland leading up to her dad's birthday on the Sunday the 8th. She stood for hours after the ceremony signing autographs, taking photos. She wouldn't leave until the last person was satisfied. She had an amazing time," Weinshanker told ET.

Meanwhile, Priscilla eulogized her daughter with a poem written by one of her granddaughters, whom she did not name.

"She knew it was close to the end. Survivor's guilt, some would say, but a broken heart, is the doing of her death. Now she is home where she always belonged, but my heart is missing her love," Priscilla said at the funeral on behalf of her grandchild, CNN reported.

Priscilla is grandmother to Lisa Marie's three daughters, 33-year-old Riley Keough and 14-year-old twins Finley and Harper Lockwood.

Riley and Benjamin were born out of Lisa Marie's relationship with her first ex-husband, Danny Keough. She went on to marry Michael Jackson (1994-1996) and Nicholas Cage (2002-2004). Her last husband was Michael Lockwood (2006-2021).

Over the weekend, reports claimed that Lockwood would be getting full custody of Lisa Marie's twin daughters. Prior to the singer's death, her fourth ex-husband already had joint custody over their kids.
