Austin Butler talked about sounding like Elvis Presley during his acceptance speech at the Golden Globe Awards Tuesday.

The 31-year-old actor won the best actor in a drama award for his portrayal of the King of Rock and Roll in the 2022 biopic "Elvis."

"I don't even think about it. I don't think I sound like him still, but I guess I haven't noticed 'cause I hear it a lot," Butler said, as per Entertainment Tonight. "I think, I often liken it to when somebody lives in another country for a long time."

He added, "And I had three years where that was my only focus in life, so I'm sure that there's just pieces of my DNA that will always be linked in that way."

Butler went on to thank Presley's family, noting he is endlessly grateful for allowing him into their space to help him capture the essence of the late singer.

"To be in that room full of all those people that I've admired so much, and it just means so much to me," he said. "And then in front of the Presleys who have now welcomed me into their family in such a beautiful way — I just feel so endlessly grateful to them that they provided this space for me to somehow try to capture the essence of this man that means so much to them, and that they love so much."

Butler shared his experience working on the biopic with director Baz Luhrmann in July last year, noting that the heckling made him cry. He revealed that on his first day in the recording studio, the director invited all the executives and people from the offices to heckle him.

The actor added that he went home in tears that night, but it helped him understand how heckling feels.

"Elvis" was released in theaters on June 24, 2022. Actress Olivia DeJonge played Presley's wife, Priscilla, in the flick, while Tom Hanks portrayed Presley's manager named Colonel Tom Parker.

Butler will be next seen as Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen in the highly anticipated movie "Dune: Part Two," which is slated for release on Nov. 3 this year.
