Lloyd Cafe Cadena, a popular Filipino YouTube star with millions of followers, died at the age of 26. On Friday, his family announced the news of the sudden death in a Facebook post.

“It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that we announce the untimely demise of our beloved brother Lloyd Cafe Cadena,” the family shared with his more than 7 million followers on the platform. “May he be remembered for all the joy and laughter he shared with everyone. My family and I ask for your prayers, respect, and privacy during this time.”

Known fondly as “Kween LC,” Cadena launched his YouTube channel in 2011 and became one of his country’s most popular vloggers. He mostly posted videos of cooking, unboxing products, pranks and also candid vlogs about his life, some of which featured members of his family.

Cadena had more than 3 million subscribers on YouTube and more than 252 million views. He shared his last YouTube video on Aug. 26, and sent his last tweet on Wednesday. His cause of death remains unknown.

Mariah Carey sent her condolences after learning about Cadena's untimely death.

"So sad. RIP Lloyd, you will be missed," the music icon tweeted, adding "Sending my prayers to his family and friends during this difficult time."

Carey retweeted the Mariah Carey Philippines' fan group's condolence message. The group shared that Cadena was "one of Mariah Carey's biggest fans."

Fellow YouTube star Andi Manzano Reyes commented on his family’s announcement: “This breaks my heart. You made so many people so happy and have touched many lives including mine. Gone too soon you will be missed Llyod.”

“This is darn you 2020!!!!,” gaming video creator Eric Eruption Tai added.

YouTuber Madame Ely expressed his shock over the sudden death, writing on Twitter: “I lost my best friend today.”

Many fans remembered the certified "lamb" and paid their tribute to the YouTuber.

"This is so sad. I watch his vlogs everyday. It made bad days much lighter. You will be missed greatly Lloyd. Rest in peace," one wrote.

Another wrote on Facebook: "One of the pioneers on vlogging here in the Philippines!! I still can’t process this on my mind, this is so unexpected and so sad."
