‘Luminous Witches’ Episode 1 Live Stream Details, Spoilers, Release Date

The humans are in a war against invading aliens, and while the combatants are battling the enemies, Ginny and her friends are tasked with bringing smiles through music and dance.

"League of Nations Air Force Aviation Magic Band Luminous Witches" anime is a standalone spin-off of "Strike Witches." The official website has released the synopsis and spoiler stills of Episode 1.

The series is set in 1944 and humankind has been fighting a long and tiresome battle against a mysterious being called Neuroi.

A girl named Ginny, who lives in the countryside town of Britannia, travels to London and meets Inori and Mirasha.

At that time, Major Grace, who is conducting a small band to support those under threat of invasion with the power of music, makes an appeal to the military headquarters.

“The war against invading aliens can’t be won by missiles alone! Team morale matters just as much as launching a counterassault, and that’s where Ginny and her friends come in. Instead of standing on the front lines with the 501st Joint Fighter Wing, the Luminous Witches of the League of Nations Air Force bring smiles to civilians displaced in the human-Neuroi war world with thrilling song and dance — not to mention aerial displays the likes of which the music world has never seen!” read the official series synopsis, as per Sentai.

“While they might be non-combatants, these performers know the value of preserving the people’s smiles, and they’ll fight in their unique way to make sure those smiles never fade,” it continued.

The series is directed by Shouji Saeki and the character design is by Kazuya Shiotsuki. Koichi Yasuda is credited for assistant production.

The music for the series is produced by Go Wakabayashi. "League of Nations Air Force Aviation Magic Band Luminous Witches" is produced by SHAFT.

The anime is based on the original work by Humikane Shimada.
