  • She was admitted to the hospital after complaining about some symptoms
  • The reality star has yet to receive an official diagnosis from the doctors

Mama June Shannon has opened up about a recent health scare that forced her to be admitted to the hospital.

The 43-year-old reality star exclusively told TMZ Wednesday that she had a routine visit to her doctor early this week. However, things quickly took a different turn when she reported some alarming symptoms to her doctor.

According to the "Mama June: Road to Redemption" star, her doctor decided to have her admitted to the healthcare facility after she said that she's been suffering from severe headaches and dizziness lately.

Honey Boo Boo's mom shared that she had to go through a series of scans and tests, so doctors could figure out what was going on with her body and health. However, they have yet to give her an official diagnosis.

The controversial matriarch previously struggled with drug addiction, but she insisted to TMZ that she has not relapsed. She insisted that whatever her condition is, it is not related to substance use.

Page Six learned that staying by her side throughout her hospitalization was her husband, 34-year-old Justin Stroud. In June, the former "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" star addressed the speculations about their relationship, saying she was "grateful" because she found "a wonderful man" in Stroud.

Mama June and Stroud tied the knot in March in a private courthouse wedding ceremony. Talking about their marriage in the recently concluded season of their family's reality series in July, June said she's "1,000% happy" because it was "really nice" to finally have someone to enjoy her fresh start in life.

While Mama June seemed to be enjoying her married life, she's also working on sorting out her issues and fixing her broken relationship with her youngest daughter, Honey Boo Boo. For the teen star's 17th birthday late last month, Mama June sent her gifts and a lengthy text message to say sorry.

"Happy birthday b—h! Hope [you] have a good day. Just know I am very proud of [you] with everything — graduating high school [is] a big deal. I know I have put [you] through a lot, and I'm sorry, but I'm here now whenever [you] need me. I know I'm not perfect by [any] means, but I'm trying my best," the Shannon matriarch wrote.
