KEY POINTS

  • Mama June showed off her beautiful pink and blonde hair on Instagram
  • She revealed in her caption that her husband spent at least two hours washing it
  • The reality star received flak for her latest revelation online

Mama June Shannon got heavily criticized online when she revealed that her husband, Justin Stroud, washed her hair, among many other things in the past year.

The 43-year-old reality star took to Instagram Friday to rave about her 34-year-old husband's good gesture for her. She uploaded a photo of her smiling while letting her hair down at a parking lot, and she accompanied it with a lengthy message about her newly washed locks and her partner.

Mama June wrote that she wanted to boast about her "awesome" and "amazing" husband, whom she said is "always helping me out with whatever."

She explained that she "hates" washing her own hair and have been getting it washed by a professional for "over 20 years."

But when she and her husband were recently invited to an event at the last minute, she did not have time to go get her hair washed. Justin then kindly offered to get up early in the morning and wash her hair for her.

"And he [did] that exact thing," the TV star wrote.

Mama June went on to explain how they had to go to Walmart to buy the things they needed for her hair and how it took the tattoo artist about two and a half hours to wash her hair. However, she said it was worth it because she got a lot of compliments that day.

The "Mama June: Road to Redemption" star then praised her husband, saying he is a "keeper" even though their relationship hasn't been rainbows every day.

"I can promise [you] that this man has [shown] me [A LOT] in the last year and a half, but I can't wait to [see] what the future holds," she concluded her post, along with a series of hashtags, including "#couplegoals, #husband and #spoiled."

However, Mama June might not have anticipated how her fans and followers would react to her post. Many were not pleased by it, with some pointing out her grammatical errors and lack of punctuation. Others questioned why she doesn't wash her own hair.

"Can you talk English or [are] you not educated? Asking for my friend," one wrote.

"That was so painful to read. There are these things called periods and commas. Simple basic English writing skills," another commenter pointed out.

"I knew you were incompetent, but I didn't know you were that incompetent," a third user added.

"Wait, what? Do you not shower? Washing your hair is basic life skills," a different user asked.

"Wait, what? You don't shampoo and condition your own hair when you shower? How many days do you go without washing your hair?? I'm so perplexed," another netizen commented.

Honey Boo Boo's mom quickly reacted to the backlash by leaving a lengthy message in the comments section. She explained that she washes her hair at the salon once a week. She also admitted to the grammar issues in her post but wrote that it was just "the way I talk y'all."

The We TV star added that some people express their appreciation for their partners often, but others forget to do this due to their busy lives. Hence, she took the time to post about how thankful she was for her husband's simple but sweet gesture for her.

Early this year, Mama June shared on social media that she's "cutting toxic things out of my life forever." In her post, she acknowledged that so many things happened to her in the past year. But the highlight of her 2022 was marrying the "man of my dreams."

Meanwhile, her daughter Lauryn "Pumpkin" Shannon, who is now the legal guardian of Mama June's youngest child Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson,17, recalled the controversies their family faced last year in her New Year's Day post.

"Here's to all the pain, crying & happiness of 2022," Pumpkin, who recently celebrated her 23rd birthday, wrote before manifesting that 2023 "will be our year."
