A California man was taken into custody by bounty hunters brandishing guns in front of his children for unpaid traffic violations.

Ricky Gory was on his way home after picking up his children from school when he was suddenly followed by bounty hunters. Gory panicked and crashed the car into a tree near the driveway of his home.

According to witnesses six-armed bounty hunters sprang out, stormed Gory’s car and took him into custody. Though Gory has a lengthy record of crime, most of them are non-violent and traffic ticket violations for which he failed to appear. However, he still sits behind bars.

Gory’s children were in the car while the whole incident happened and they were terrified as their father got arrested in front of them. The bounty hunters later began swearing at the children and questioning them.

"The bounty hunter has his gun on his chest, and he's cussing at me, telling me, 'Who else is in the f'ing house? Who else is in the car?" Gory’s 12-year-old son Amari Snell Moore told ABC News.

Britanny Snell, Gory’s girlfriend, was critical of the bounty hunters who yelled and cussed at the children after Gory was in custody. According to her, the authorities were following Gory the whole day but only sprung to action when the children were in the car with him.

"I didn't like how they approached my son yelling cussing with his gun out once Ricky was already in custody," Snell told ABC News. "I feel like they need to be held accountable for their actions, they used my kids as a shield than they verbally attacked them. I feel like there should be some type of regulations for bounty hunters more training in this field or maybe leave it up to the real police agencies entirely."

According to Snell, the children are traumatized over what had happened. They still haven’t totally grasped the situation and are asking for their father to return home.

Riverside County Sheriff's Department said that Gory was taken into custody shortly after the crash, but declined to comment any further. No injuries were reported in the incident.
