A man in India was accused of raping his 14-year-old daughter in an intoxicated state while his wife was away from home.

The incident, which took place in the southern state of Andhra Pradesh, came to light Thursday when the girl was taken to hospital after complaining of stomach ache. At the hospital, doctors told the family she was pregnant.

The accused, a 49-year-old man who was married and had three daughters of which two were married, was absconding, police officer Madhava Rao told media outlet the Hans India. The victim is the third child of the accused.

The man, who was in-charge of guarding a mango orchard, raped his daughter in January. On the day of the incident, the victim's mother was on her way to a village from the mango orchard for supplies.
