The plot of the show is set in a time when the Empire has fallen and there is power vacuum across the galaxy. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the TV series may explore what is happening on the planet Mandalore during this time, and it may also show how the main character is connected to the civil war that was fought on the planet years ago.
