The annual anti-abortion rally in Washington D.C. — March for Life — is scheduled for Jan. 27 this year and organizers expect thousands to show up and support their pro-life cause.

The march comes days after President Donald Trump’s inauguration and the massive Women’s Marches that followed. The organizers of the march say the date was chosen as it was the next possible day provided to them by the National Park Service following the presidential inauguration.

The numbers of the anti-abortion marchers, however, are not expected to match the figures seen during the Jan. 21 women’s marches, which attracted millions of people worldwide and almost 500,000 at the Women’s March on Washington.

Where is the March?

The March for Life Rally is scheduled to take place at noon on the grounds of the Washington Monument, near the corner of 15th Street and Constitution Avenue, according to the event’s website. After the rally, the March will begin on Constitution Avenue between 15th and 17th Streets.

There have also been a number of local marches across the country.

How many people are attending?

The March for Life Facebook page has over 100,000 likes but the March for Life event page shows that only 10,000 people are interested in it, and just 5,600 have said they are going. Thousands attended the 2016 edition of the March for Life despite a blizzard that hit the capital on the day of the march and organizers expect an even larger crowd this year.
