It was announced on Friday that President Donald Trump’s chief of staff, Mark Meadows tested positive for the novel coronavirus, and now, he is the talk of social media.

Meadows is one of a handful of White House employees who tested positive for the virus, according to ABC News.

The Chief of Staff has been continuously around President Trump and his family throughout the duration of the week because of the election. Of those that tested positive thus far, Trump’s campaign battleground states director, Nick Trainor, is one of them.

Meadows was even seen shaking hands with people and not wearing a mask at the campaign headquarters on Tuesday and Wednesday.

He has also refused to talk to reporters and give statements, in the recent past, after they asked him to put a mask on before an interview, the New York Times stated.

Twitter users are having a field day on the social media platform because there have been plenty of times Meadows has been seen in public, at rallies and at other various events, without a mask on.

He once said in an interview with CNN, “We are not going to control the pandemic. What we need to do is make sure that we have the proper mitigation factors, whether it's therapies or vaccines or treatments to make sure that people don't die from this.”

There’s no information as to when the staff members contracted symptoms, or from where they contracted the virus. The White House hasn’t provided any statements about the staff.

It was announced this week that the U.S. hit a record high of COVID-19 cases since the beginning of the pandemic. For three straight days, new cases were in the 100,000s.
