In a case of an apparent murder-suicide, two men were found dead at a home in Maryland on Saturday (June 20).

Around 12:50 a.m. on Saturday, officers with the Prince George County Police Department, after receiving reports of a shooting, responded to a home on the 3800 block of St. Barnabas Road, near the Marlow Heights Shopping Center in Suitland.

The officers found 30-year-old Addon Rush Jr. unresponsive and lying in a pool of blood with a gunshot wound. After a further search in the house, the officers saw another man, identified as 51-year-old Kevin Williams, unresponsive and bleeding with a gunshot wound.

Both men were pronounced dead a short while later. Police said Rush hailed from Oxon Hill while Williams was a Suitland resident. A preliminary investigation revealed that the gunshot wound on Rush was self-inflicted. According to the investigators, Rush shot Williams before turning the gun on himself.

Police said an argument between the two escalated and ended up in the shooting.

The relationship between the two men was not clear. It was also not revealed as to what led to the altercation between the duo.

This was an ongoing investigation and no further details were available at the time. Police have requested the help of the public to get more details about the incident. Anyone with information was asked to contact investigators at 301-516-2512, or submit a tip anonymously via the county’s crime solvers hotline at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477) or online at pgcrimesolvers.com.

In another murder-suicide incident, a man from Rhode Island fatally shot his girlfriend and their cat before shooting himself dead. The responding officers found 44-year-old Tanya Gagnon, and her 43-year-old boyfriend, Charles Johnson, unresponsive with gunshot wounds. Both of them were pronounced dead at the scene. A cat was also found dead inside the house. A dog in the house was found uninjured.

A similar case of murder-suicide was reported in the same week in Arkansas, where a father killed his 6-year-old daughter and then killed himself. The little girl was found dead at their home. The father who fled the scene was later located inside a car overdosed with an unnamed drug. He was rushed to a hospital where he later died.
