Matt Lauer may have been fired from the “Today” show following sexual harassment allegations, but it doesn’t mean he no longer tunes into the long-running NBC series. The anchor has reportedly reached out to staff members to offer his opinion on a recent segment.

In November, the network announced that Lauer was fired from the show after receiving a detailed complaint accusing the anchor of inappropriate sexual behavior.

A little more than a month after his termination, sources told Page Six that Lauer has not completely moved on from his time on the show.

Insiders revealed that the journalist has been emailing NBC producers and sharing his notes about the show. More specifically, he recently pointed out that he felt they used the wrong music to start off a segment.

After receiving his critiques, insiders revealed that the network’s staff was not thrilled about his input.

An NBC person declined to comment on whether Lauer has actually been in contact with staff regarding the production of the show.

News of Lauer’s criticism of the show comes after the disgraced anchor privately congratulated Hoda Kotb on her new promotion, replacing him as the co-anchor on “Today.”

Kotb told E! News that her former colleague reached out to her following the big announcement. “He was sweet this morning. Certain texts popped up, and there was one from Matt: ‘Congratulations!’” she said.

“And he said some nice words,” Kotb continued.

Despite the controversy surrounding Lauer, Kotb admitted she was happy he sent her some kind words. “It meant the world to me to hear from him,” she said.

“It was really nice,” she added.

Kotb was first announced as Lauer’s replacement on Tuesday by longtime anchor, Savannah Guthrie. “We are kicking off the year right because Hoda is officially the co-anchor of Today. Let’s give her a round of applause!” she said.

Kotb will now appear alongside Guthrie at the anchor desk during the first two hours of the show and will later co-host the fourth hour with Kathie Lee Gifford.

Since being fired from the show, Lauer had been laying low at his Hamptons estate and has been trying to work on his marriage with Dutch model Annette Roque.
