  • Stories about Ellen DeGeneres's mean attitude continue to pile up
  • She compared being stuck in her $27-million mansion with being in jail
  • A former bodyguard claimed the TV host was not friendly like Portia  de Rossi

Ellen DeGeneres is yet again on the receiving end of accusations by several people claiming her attitude behind the camera is not as admirable as what the audience see on the television. This comes just days after she was accused of being insensitive to the plight of those direly affected by the COVID-19.

According to a New York Post source, who was a former staff member at the “Ellen Degeneres Show,” the host wasn’t always nice and added that the horror stories about the celebrity were true.

“It irritates me that people think she’s all sweetness and light and she gets away with it,” the former employee, who chose to remain anonymous, shared.

This revelation comes after the 62-year-old compared “being in jail” to quarantining at her $27-million mansion in California amid the lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"It's mostly because I've been wearing the same clothes for 10 days, and everyone in here is gay," DeGeneres quipped in the video shot at her house.

The joke understandably didn’t sit well with viewers, who immediately called out DeGeneres, who is one of the richest comedians in showbiz nowadays. But the stories didn’t stop there because many people came out with their own tales as well.

On May 1, Tom Majercak, a bodyguard who assisted the celebrity in 2014 when she hosted the Oscars, confirmed to Fox News the allegations of the philanthropist being mean and indifferent behind the scenes. He narrated that as Security Imagery Specialists’ senior manager, he was assigned to protect DeGeneres, her mom and her wife, Portia de Rossi, from the event to the Governor’s Ball.

Of all the celebrities that he had assisted, Majercak insisted that it was only DeGeneres who didn’t even bother to greet him. However, the same can’t be said of De Rossi, whom the bodyguard described as “very pleasant and carried on a conversation” during the Academy Awards.

Majercak shared that when the Australian-American actress introduced him to DeGeneres, the latter just side-eyed at him. The experience was demeaning, he believed, because it seemed that it was how she treats people who are not in her circle.

The long-running story of DeGeneres' real attitude recently gained traction once more when comedian Kevin T. Porter asked his followers to share mean stories about her, who is known to be mean. For every tale, he pledged to donate $2 to the Los Angeles Food Bank.
