Meghan Markle has been asked to slow down shortly after she gave birth to her son, Archie, earlier this year. However, the Duchess of Sussex seemingly refused to listen.

A source told The Telegraph that palace aides became concerned when they realized that Markle skipped her full maternity leave to help create the Smart Works collection. At that time, Prince Harry’s wife was also busy with her partnership with Vogue.

“We were saying to her, ‘Wow, this is not what a maternity break looks like, you need to slow down,’” the source said.

Maternity leaves usually last six months for members of the royal family. But royal fans started seeing the Duchess of Sussex four months after giving birth. Last month marked her fifth month after giving birth, but she and her husband already embarked on their overseas tour of South Africa.

As such, some palace aides and royal fans are convinced that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex deserve their six-week break starting this month. The royal couple will be celebrating Thanksgiving with Markle’s mom, Doria Ragland, in the United States.

Prince Harry and Markle will also be celebrating Christmas with Ragland and their 6-month-old son, Archie.

“I hope that they will actually properly unwind and unplug for an initial couple of weeks. I told her last week to please just turn your brain off. Enjoy Thanksgiving, focus on cooking some pies.” ” a palace aide told Express.

In a statement, Prince Harry and Markle said that they are simply following precedent when it comes to holiday celebrations. They also revealed that Queen Elizabeth allowed them to celebrate Christmas in the United States.

As of late, it is still unclear whether or not the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will regularly celebrate important occasions in Markle’s hometown. But this year, they are stepping away from all of the backlashes that they have faced throughout the past couple of months.
