Is Meghan Markle Pregnant With Twins? Why Duchess Of Sussex Could Have Multiple Births

Much has been made about Meghan Markle’s pregnancy and what will happen when the Duchess of Sussex officially welcomes her first child with Prince Harry in Spring 2019. However, the latest round of reports suggests that the royal couple may, in fact, announce that they are welcoming two children when the time comes.

Several signs have emerged which suggest the Duchess is either further along in her pregnancy than believed, or that she may, in fact, be having twins, the first set that would be born into the British royal family in history. Here are all the reasons why it’s believed Markle could welcome twins.

It’s Been Speculated For A While

There has been speculation, even well before Markle announced her pregnancy, that she was going to have more than one baby. Endless rumors emerged back then that the royal couple was either expecting two daughters or a daughter and a son, with one report even suggesting that if they welcomed two daughters, they would be named Diana and Elizabeth, after Princess Diana and Queen Elizabeth II.

Betting Odds Sky-Rocketed Recently

Irish betting company Paddy Power was forced to stop taking bets on Markle’s pregnancy in recent weeks due to a sudden surge of people placing money on the possibility that more than one child was going to be born.

“An unprecedented amount of bets on Meghan and Harry to have twins has forced us to stop taking bets on the market altogether,” a spokesperson for the betting company told Us Weekly at the time. “Since the day began, the stream of bets has led us to believe that perhaps the punters—or an insider source—knows something more than we do.”

The odds before betting was suspended wound up reaching a high of 5 to 1.

Markle Herself Called Her Bump “Them”

According to a report in Life and Style, Markle herself has hinted at the possibility that she’s having twins, even calling her baby bump “them.”

“Meghan’s hinted numerous times that ‘double trouble’ lies ahead,” a source told the publication. “She’s seeing a top London consultant who specializes in multiple births and has been spotted affectionally putting her hand on her stomach and saying she can’t wait to meet ‘them.’”
