Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are being called out by Twitter users for allegedly lying about their involvement in “Finding Freedom.”

Royal correspondents Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand’s anticipated biography about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex was released on Tuesday. Several Twitter users were irked after reading the Author’s Note because Scobie and Durand wrote that they actually spoke with Prince Harry and Markle “when appropriate.” Prior to the release of the book, Prince Harry and Markle said they did not contribute and were not interviewed for the book.

"‘Finding Freedom’ Authors Confirm They Did Speak To Prince Harry and Meghan in an Acknowledgement Burried in The Back Of The Biography. The authors note acknowledges that Harry and Meg did work on the book. How many press releases were put out denying it," one wrote on Twitter.

"Markle Was the ghost writer, the world is fully aware of her antics but she will not beleive we can see through her antics," kwilly commented.

"And the winners of least believed Royal Family lie of 2020 are... Harry and Meghan. Mind you, Prince Andrew romped it in 2019 with 'I don't sweat' and 'I was in Pizza Express Woking'... he still has time for a few more 2020 whoppers.," another added.

"It’s pathetic and very laughable these two so called self made biography Authors are still claiming it’s not a ghost written hagiography. It will be filed as such in the Royal books of laughs," @glee_64 commented.

"They just can't stop lying, I reckon they make a bet over breakfast who's going to win the Lie-ometer today. Puplic [sic] are pawns, friends are expendible, family discourse. is irrelevant to them..." Rachel's Mole wrote.

"Youre stupid for believing it’s unauthorized. Get real," another user wrote.

Scobie addressed the backlash from the netizens in a post on Twitter. Several netizens also showed their support to the author by noting that it wasn't a big deal if the Sussexes had little involvement in the book.

"Let’s make one thing clear: There’s a huge difference between exchanging a few words with a member of the Royal Family on an official engagement or tour to actually interviewing them," he wrote.

"The amount of nonsense doing the rounds right now is unreal.”

"Well done Omid. Your book is doing so well and a lot of royal reporters are pissed off. Watch your back. Amazing book," @SueJon commented on Scobie's post.

"Why are royal correspondents (or anyone else) making a fuss over whether or not H&M contributed to your book or approved of their staff & friend's being interviewed? They act as if that's the biggest take away from this book," another wrote.

Despite the criticisms the book received and the questions about the Sussexes' involvement, many are satisfied and happy after reading it.

"Mom finally read #FindingFreedom and she flipped out. She said Diana and Doria did an amazing job raising Harry and Meghan. They made sure that it wasn’t the environment that dictated their worth. They are valuable global citizens with character and integrity," one wrote.

"It’s more a book for ppl who don’t know Harry and Meghan imo I appreciated the #sussexsquad mention in it. I’m so happy that they’re finally free from this cesspool," another added.

"Thank you Omid for humanizing Meghan. A lot of us followed her years before she met Harry and we know the person the British press tried to portray her as, is not who we know her to be. They tried to break her but she can't be broken and came out stronger than ever,” Vash commented.
