Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are likely to have their second baby soon.

According to Katy Gill, a journalist for Daily Star, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex might give their firstborn a sibling soon. As of late, the couple hasn’t announced the arrival of their baby yet, but they are expected to have another soon after.

In the 2015 documentary “Kate Middleton: Heir We Go Again!” royal biographer Kate Nicholl pointed out how the royals want to have a very small gap between their children. This is the case with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s kids Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

Prince William and Middleton welcomed Prince George in 2013. After two years Princess Charlotte arrived. In 2018, the Cambridges welcomed their newest addition, Prince Louis. In the span of five years since they welcomed their firstborn, the future king and queen consort have been blessed with three kids.

Also, there’s only a year gap between Middleton and her sister Pippa, and then another year between Pippa and James. Similarly, Prince William and Prince Harry only have two years gap between them.

“If you look at a royal couple they tend to have their children quite close together quite simply so that they have that family time, they have that nesting time and then they’re back at work,” Nicholl explained.

Meanwhile, Markle is advised to wait for a year before having another baby. Markle is considered a “geriatric” mother because she’s already over 35. Women at this age who conceive just six months after their previous birth have 1.2 percent risk of maternal mortality compared to their younger counterparts.

In addition, another pregnancy would be riskier since she’s already in the advanced maternal age. Women over 35 who still conceive are prone to genetic risks like the embryo having a Down Syndrome and have increased risk of miscarriage and stillbirth.

In related news, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have made a reference to their baby for the first time. In a post on Instagram, the couple thanked those who donated to the charities they recommended and wrote, “And on behalf of The Duke and Duchess (and Baby Sussex), we thank you so much.”

Their followers went into a frenzy thinking that it was already a baby announcement. The couple said that they would keep their birth plans a secret but would announce it after they celebrate the baby’s arrival privately.
