Since Meghan Markle and Prince Harry wrapped up the last of their royal duties at the end of March, the couple has been focused on their new lives in America. However, an important event is on the horizon, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex plan to reunite with their relatives across the pond.

When Harry and Meghan announced their plan to become financially independent, it reportedly strained their relationship with the royal family. However, it appears Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor’s first birthday on May 6 will bring them back together.

Royal expert Katie Nicholl told OK! Magazine that Kate, Prince William, and other members of the royal family plan to wish Archie a happy birthday. “The Queen will wish him happy birthday this week via Zoom as will the Cambridge children,” she revealed.

“They haven’t seen their little cousin in months so they’ve been looking forward to seeing how much he’s grown.”

Royal biographer Penny Junor suggested that the virtual reunion will be a step in mending Meghan and Harry’s relationship with the royal family. “Now they are cut off from family, it is hard for everybody. On the day, they will no doubt make many calls to family,” she explained.

“Meghan and Harry have not shared a picture of Archie since the new year when they published a picture of Harry holding him when the family were on a walk in Canada.”

Meanwhile, royal correspondent Roya Nikkah revealed that Meghan and Prince Harry will share something special with the public in celebration of Archie’s birthday.

“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will give the world a rare glimpse of their son, Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, next month when they publicly mark his first birthday on May 6.” she tweeted.

Although Archie will receive plenty of well wishes on his birthday, Prince Harry and Meghan are expected to have a small celebration to commemorate their son’s special day.
