  • Kate Middleton will have her moment back in the spotlight
  • Prince William's wife took a backseat while Meghan Markle made headlines
  • Kate Middleton is popular in Australia

Kate Middleton used to be the most talked-about member of the royal family. But coverage on new seemed to have lessened ever since Meghan Markle started dating Prince Harry.

Now that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are no longer official members of The Firm, royal fans can expect Middleton to have her moment back in the spotlight once again.

On the “HeirPod” podcast, royal commentator Omid Scobie hinted at the fact that Markle stole the spotlight from Middleton for almost three years. However, this doesn’t mean that stories about Prince Harry’s wife were more positive compared to her sister-in-law.

“When you remove that from the mix, does that mean, perhaps, press coverage of the royals will be quieter over there in Australia? Or will the media start to look at other members of the Royal Family again and will the Cambridges have their moment back in the spotlight as they did many years ago?” Scobie asked royal expert Juliet Rieden.

The royal expert said that Prince William and Middleton will certainly have their moment back in the spotlight, and this has already started happening. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very popular, particularly in Australia, and most stories about them are positive.

“There haven’t been any negative things to say about the Duchess of Cambridge. She is kept very much in the background as a very stalwart member of the Cambridge court,” she said.

Meanwhile, Middleton also made headlines this week amid devastating news. One of the charities that the future queen has been supporting since 2012 will close down.

Parent charity Place2Be released a statement saying that the charity is no longer sustainable financially especially in an environment where school budgets are under pressure.

As of late, Middleton has not released her own statement regarding the closing of one of her favorite charities.
