Meghan Markle has been photographed sticking her tongue out.

One netizen shared a number of photos of the Duchess of Sussex wagging her tongue on Twitter. “Where is her basic manners? It’s not difficult to keep your tongue in your mouth,” the online user wrote.

Some find it “low class” and “gross.” Meanwhile, the same user shared another photo featuring Markle’s mom Doria Ragland doing the same gesture.

“I have seen this before, if that’s really true…we do not know. I think she got it from her mother,” the user wrote.

Another netizen who found the photo funny agreed that the habit could be something that Markle got from Ragland. “I believe you are right, she got it from her mom,” @MonicaAsian commented.

On the other hand, some defended Markle and insisted that she could do whatever she wants. “She can stick out her tongue if she wants to. Why is it bothering you? It's hers!!! Get over it and move on!!” a different user wrote.

Some find this act offensive, but others don’t have any problems with it. According to Maureen O’Sullivan, a psychology professor at the University of San Francisco, this gesture has several meanings.

“The gesture of sticking out one’s tongue can have multiple meanings. It can be an act of rudeness, disgust, playfulness, or outright sexual provocation. . . . It’s like the eyes. An eye gaze can be aggressive to an enemy, but eye gaze can also be the height of intimacy,’” O’Sullivan said.

In related news, Prince Harry and Markle just announced that they would keep the details of their birth plan a secret. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex wanted to spend some private time with their newborn first before they introduce him or her to the world.

Some royals fans were supportive of the couple’s decision. However, others criticized them for wanting royal privileges and then cutting out the public when they want to.

One netizen said that the public is entitled to learn about the Sussex baby because they pay for the privileged life that Prince Harry and Markle enjoy. Another netizen suggested that Prince Harry and Markle should “fund” themselves.
