It seems as though nearly everyone has made New Year's resolutions at one point or another in their lives. As it turns out, Meghan Markle is no different as she made a few interesting ones prior to her May 2018 royal wedding to Prince Harry.

According to People, the Duchess of Sussex shared some of her personal objectives she had had throughout the years in a January 2016 post on her former lifestyle blog, The Tig. There, she admitted that while she didn't have the best track record for completing the things on her list, she did have a few goals she had once placed importance on.

"Run a marathon. Stop biting my nails. Stop swearing. Re-learn French. These make my New Year's resolution list nearly (AKA actually every) single year," she shared.

Continuing she added, "The marathon hasn't happened. The swearing comes in lulls triggered by being overworked or feeling mighty cheeky after a couple drinks. Then there's the French - a language I studied through high school then lost as I immersed myself in speaking Spanish with the Argentinians during my stint in Buenos Aires."

Later, she wrote, "And when it comes to the biting of the nails - well, it still happens with a turbulent flight or a stressful day."

Ultimately, she revealed that in 2016 she had resolved not to have a resolution. "For this new year, the only thing I aim to do is to approach life playfully. To laugh and enjoy, to keep my standards high but my level of self-acceptance higher. My New Year's resolution is to leave room for magic. To make my plans, and be okay if they sometimes break. To set my goals, but to be open to change," she wrote.

It's unknown if the Duchess plans on making any resolutions this year, but various reports have shared that she seemingly has a busy year ahead nonetheless. While on a hiatus from royal duties, Meghan is said to have been in contact with her former PR firm as she started working on a new strategy. Additionally, it has been stated that she may begin working closer with Kate Middleton in 2020 leading up to Queen Elizabeth II's retirement.
