When Meghan Markle and Prince Harry visit Queen Elizabeth’s Scottish estate, the Duchess of Sussex will have to abide by some strict rules if she wants to avoid upsetting the monarch.

Since she has joined the royal family, Meghan has defied certain royal traditions. However, when it comes to her style choices, Meghan will have to follow the Queen’s orders.

A royal source told Fabulous Digital that Meghan will not be able to show off the casual items in her wardrobe when she visits Elizabeth.

“The Queen is no favorite of jeans, so the US boyfriend look and ripped jeans will be left in Frogmore Cottage along with any wedges, which her Majesty hates with a passion,” the insider said.

Meghan has been photographed wearing jeans on several occasions, including on royals visits, and most recently her appearance at Wimbledon. Although she will need appropriate attire for her time in the countryside, denim won’t be an option.

However, there is a chance the 38-year-old will use the opportunity to wear pieces from new designers. “It has been mentioned that Meghan could well be wearing a few Scottish designers whilst at Balmoral, and for church appearances with the Queen,” the insider revealed.

“Meghan has soft spot for North Lanarkshire born designer Christopher Kane, now a globally sought-after designer.”

Meghan and Prince Harry are expected to visit the monarch’s Scottish residence with their son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor. “The Queen and Prince Philip adore the couple and, of course, their new great-grandson Archie, and they have invited them to Balmoral for a few days,” a source told The Sun.

“It is a testament to Meghan that she has been given this invite. It’s a huge honor,” the insider added.

Although it is a privilege to stay at Queen Elizabeth’s estate, royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams told Express UK that Meghan may not enjoy her time at the royal residence.

“We won’t be told any details, but [it] would be interesting to know how Meghan, a city dweller, fares at Balmoral. Diana initially appeared to enjoy it there, but subsequently hated it,” he said.

Meghan and Prince Harry’s trip to Balmoral may mark the couple’s last chance to spend some quality time together. The Duchess of Sussex’s maternity leave is expected to end in the fall, and she will resume her full-time royal duties.
