Meghan Markle has made some mistakes since joining the royal family, and it appears she may lie to Queen Elizabeth to get out of participating in a long-standing royal tradition.

Since Meghan married Prince Harry, she has ignored certain royal traditions in favor of following modern guidelines. Although she has been allowed to cross certain lines, one royal commentator believes Meghan will pretend to be sick to avoid upsetting Queen Elizabeth.

In the Mail on Sunday, Robert Jobson claimed Meghan will be expected to participate in sports like hunting and fly fishing when she visits the Queen in Balmoral. However, the royal expert doesn’t think Meghan will want to hunt animals during her stay at the Scottish estate.

“Meghan, however, who rather disproves of such blood sports, may choose to feign a headache,” he wrote.

Jobson claimed the Duchess of Sussex, who reportedly follows a vegan diet during the week, wouldn’t enjoy killing animals. Despite her reservations, a majority of the royal family will participate in the hobby. “It is hunting, which is perhaps the biggest passion,” he explained.

“Her Majesty shot her last stag in 1983 near to the Spittal of Glenmuick, in a spot that is now called The Queen’s Corry. But she still attends shoots and drove Kate [Middleton] to a grouse shoot when the couple visited a couple of years ago.”

Although Meghan has inspired Prince Harry to make several lifestyle changes, the Duke of Sussex grew up participating in royal hunts and may leave his wife to participate in his family’s tradition.

However, that doesn’t mean the Duchess of Sussex will have nothing to do while her husband is away. Aside from hunting, picnics and BBQs allegedly take place at Balmoral daily.

While Meghan may opt to skip the hunt, she’ll have plenty of other outdoor activities to choose from to keep her entertained during Prince Harry’s absence.
