Meghan Markle only just welcomed her first child with husband Prince Harry in May, but talk has already started flowing regarding a second child for Britain’s Duke and Duchess of Sussex. However, if Meghan does get pregnant again, there is one clothing item she won’t be able to wear during her second pregnancy.

As noted by Express last July, “royal protocol” states that members of the British royal family are expected to follow a strict dress code, especially during royal appearances. This means, according to the outlet’s findings, that should Markle get pregnant again she would be “banned” from wearing “comfy, baggy clothes,” and that includes sporting “tracksuit bottoms.”

“Even the more relaxed ‘casual’ royal dress code is said to be ‘smart casual,’ with women reportedly expected to have to wear a dress with a jacket or cardigan,” Express reporter Isabella Sullivan wrote at the time, adding, “Meghan was often spotted in leggings and comfy yoga trousers before her relationship with Prince Harry became serious, now having to adhere to strict royal dress codes.”

As noted by Cosmopolitan, not wearing “baggy clothes” is just one style rule upheld by the royal family. It has also been reported that the reigning monarch, Queen Elizabeth II, prefers that women wear dresses and skirts over pants, as well as pantyhose, though, Markle has apparently broken both of those fashion rules already.
