Meghan Markle’s dad, Thomas Markle, doesn’t seem to be affected by the recent controversy his family and Prince Harry were involved in.

According to The Sun, the 73-year-old retired Hollywood lighting director spoke to an onlooker about what he truly feels about his daughter marrying the prince. “I think it’s wonderful, I’m very delighted. I think they’re a very good match, I’m very happy for them, Meghan and Harry,” he said.

And for the first time ever, Thomas talked about his future son-in-law and called him a “gentleman.”

After Markle and Prince Harry got engaged, Thomas was also asked about his daughter’s engagement, and he said that he’s open to walking her down the aisle. He and his ex-wife, Doria Ragland, also released a joint statement expressing their excitement over their daughter’s upcoming nuptials.

But until today, it’s still unclear whether or not Thomas will be the one to walk Markle down the aisle because the “Suits” alum or the Kensington Palace has not made an official announcement yet.

Markle’s half-sister, Samantha Markle-Grant, is confident that their dad will be involved in Markle and Prince Harry’s wedding. But the 52-year-old mom of three was displeased when Prince Harry commented about the family that Markle never had after the holidays.

Samantha clarified that Markle grew up in a loving home and was loved by both sides of her family. She also urged the prince to check his sources before uttering such offensive statements.

On her Twitter account, Samantha also said that Markle and Thomas have a wonderful relationship each other. The father-and-daughter duo also talks to each other on the phone every day.

Last year, Markle even shared an adorable photo of herself as a baby while being cradled by her father, which somehow proves they are in good terms. In her caption, the “Horrible Bosses” star credited her dad for teaching her the importance of handwritten notes, as well as her work ethic. She also thanked Thomas for giving her “my signature nose.”
