Meghan Markle’s return to the U.K. will be “bittersweet.”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be joining the royal family for the Commonwealth Day service on Monday. It will be Prince Harry and Markle’s first public event with the Queen, Prince Charles, Camilla Parker Bowles, Prince William and Kate Middleton ever since they renounced their royal titles.

According to royal biographer Katie Nicholl, Markle’s return will somehow be bittersweet for the duchess. She added that the former “Suits” star would feel “some trepidation” but won’t show it.

“She has come back to face the music here, and she'll feel a sense of duty,” Nicholl told OK! Magazine.

“It's bittersweet for her because she sacrificed a lot to move to the U.K. She gave up her home, her nationality and her career and fully threw herself into royal life, so there will be a sadness about the way it all panned out. Even if she's feeling uneasy, she won't let it show. She can put on a good front, so we will see plenty of that megawatt Meghan smile over the coming days.”

The monarch has remained supportive of Prince Harry and Markle despite their decision to leave the U.K. and move to Canada. However, the royal couple has received intense backlash from the royal fans after they reacted to Queen Elizabeth II’s decision that’s banning them from using the “Sussex Royal” brand

In a post on their website, Prince Harry and Markle said that the Queen has no jurisdiction over the word “royal” overseas. They also insisted that they had no plans of using the “Sussex Royal” brand. However, many felt that they were disrespecting the monarch by releasing the statement. Royal correspondent Dan Wootton called their move “unacceptable.”

“I found their statement last week despicable and disgusting,” Wootton said on his talkRADIO show. “I thought their rhetoric against the Queen was totally unacceptable. Show some respect to this incredible woman. You don’t talk about her not owning the rights to royal internationally because you know what? She does own it!”

Meanwhile, many praised the Queen for her decision. According to them, Her Majesty outplayed Prince Harry and Markle.
