A man in Michigan’s Mundy township faces multiple charges for slamming his two cats into a wall.

Genesee County Sheriff Chris Swanson said the accused, identified as 25-year-old Dylan D. Cox, threw the 3-month-old and 5-month-old kittens against the wall after the felines “got on his nerves.” The incident took place in November 2019.

His girlfriend came home and noticed that the felines were unable to walk. She then dropped the kittens off to Genesee County Animal Control as she couldn’t afford the treatment. The animal control officials notified the police about it as both the kittens had broken legs. Several local animal rescue organizations came forward to help the felines.

“Regardless of what you think about pets and animals and animal control, these kittens deserved a second chance. They didn’t deserve to be beaten,” Swanson said, adding that the cases of animal abuse are taken “as serious as hurting a human being or any other case we have.”

Cox was arraigned Wednesday and faces multiple charges including third-degree killing or torturing animals. He was issued a $5,000 bond. Meanwhile, the kittens have recovered and will be up for adoption soon.
