  • A prototype of Microsoft Surface Pro 8 was listed on eBay a few days ago
  • The product is no longer available for sale
  • More Surface Pro 8 prototype images and specs were shared by the owner of the model

The engineering model of the Microsoft Surface Pro 8 listed on eBay is already closed, but a new report offered a fresh set of interesting details about the upcoming device, including more pictures and technical specifications.

On Reddit, Unreliable_noob, who seemed to be the new owner of the Microsoft Surface Pro 8 earlier listed on eBay, shared more pictures of the Windows 10 tablet. The Reddit user said that the device is very similar to the Surface Pro 7 in terms of form factor. However, he mentioned that the premium tablet’s engineering model houses the new Intel Corei7-1165G7 processor.

The Microsoft Surface Pro 8 prototype features 32 GB of RAM and 1 TB of Solid State Drive (SSD), revealed the Reddit user. Unfortunately, according to its new owner, the anticipated Thunderbolt 3 on the upcoming device is not present in the prototype. For the uninitiated, Thunderbolt 3 enables direct memory access and while it is not something that mainstream users should be worried about, it is a crucial issue for those who keep confidential materials on their devices.

Aside from this, it looks like the Microsoft Surface Pro 8 sports a bigger battery than its older sibling. The upcoming tablet reportedly features a 50,030 mWh battery while the Surface Pro 7 houses a 4500 MWh battery. The Reddit user mentioned that the device has a 10% higher capacity battery.

Wccftech speculated that the Microsoft Surface Pro 8 could have an operating frequency of 2.72 GHz and mentioned that it might be capable of hitting higher sustained clock speeds. As for the release date and price of the device, nothing is confirmed at the moment.

Interestingly, since the Microsoft Surface Pro 8 is anticipated to be marketed as a premium device, the company would likely retail it at a higher price. In terms of design, the prototype features chunky bezels and USB-C. It is worth noting that the leaked images belong to the engineering model or prototype of the upcoming Windows 10 tablet.

It is wise to take this information with a pinch of salt. There is a chance that Microsoft would still release a Surface Pro 8 with improved design and specs.
